LAMAR TOWNSHIP, CLINTON COUNTY — Pennsylvania State Police at Lamar have released additional information regarding a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on Monday, September 14, 2026, at approximately 1:42 a.m. on Route 220 near Exit 107 in Lamar Township.

According to PSP, a 2012 Ford Taurus, operated by 28-year-old Alfonzo P. Johnson of Williamsport, was traveling northbound on Route 220 when, for unknown reasons, it entered the southbound lane.

A 2001 Freightliner tractor-trailer, operated by 32-year-old Joshua A. Stuart of Cameron, New York, was traveling southbound. Police reported that Stuart observed the Taurus entering his lane and attempted to avoid it by moving into the opposite lane. As both drivers attempted to move their vehicles back into their respective lanes, the vehicles collided head-on in the southbound lane.

Johnson sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was transported to UPMC Lock Haven, where he was pronounced deceased.

A passenger in the Taurus, 28-year-old Chrystal G. Steward of Williamsport, sustained suspected serious injuries. She was taken to a landing zone and transported by Life Flight to a hospital in Danville.

Stuart was not injured.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene.

PSP Lamar was assisted at the scene by Castanea Fire Company, Lamar Fire Company, Good Will Hose Ambulance, Life Flight, and PennDOT.
