Beech Creek Township- Pennsylvania State Police at Lamar are investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a vehicle and a horse and buggy that occurred Friday night along State Route 150/Eagle Valley Road.

According to a PSP Public Information Release Report, the crash occurred around 9:45 p.m. on September 25 near 1306 Eagle Valley Road, approximately 695 feet west of Telephone Lane.

Police said a horse and buggy was traveling south when an unknown vehicle, also traveling south, approached from behind. The buggy operator reportedly lost control and dismounted, causing the buggy to enter a ditch.

As the buggy was spinning out of control, it struck a 2025 Chevrolet traveling north. A 2015 Jeep Wrangler, which had been traveling behind the Chevrolet, then struck the Chevrolet.

Police said the unknown vehicle involved in the initial incident struck the horse and buggy before fleeing the scene prior to emergency personnel arriving. The vehicle was last observed traveling toward Beech Creek and is described as a white Ford truck with heavy passenger-side damage.

The buggy operator and a passenger were transported to UPMC Williamsport for suspected minor injuries. PSP noted that the passenger was pregnant at the time of the crash. The Chevrolet's operator was also transported to UPMC Williamsport for suspected minor injuries.

PSP Rockview, Beech Creek Fire Department, Goodwill Ambulance and Beech Creek Ambulance assisted at the scene.
